VULGARITY or PORN

Sat Feb 18, 2012, 4:33 AM
No Llamas please

Update:

The latest...

dA are still refusing to do anything about this site, any suggestions other than some of us threatening to leave? I have said I will not be renewing my membership next time if this is allowed to go on.

Should I post a News Feature to draw more attention to the site and get more support? Or is that going to attract more publicity to the wrong place... I need some help please friends and watchers...

Roz

A few weeks ago, someone asked what we all thought about the group that is mentioned in this link: [link] Looks like people cannot access this links easily. Here is a screenshot of the opening page of the group. I have the adult filter on severe sexual imagery: :thumb285726635: This was the cleanest shot I found on the opening page... Sorry I can't fit it all in. Here is the actual link to the group: [link]

I reported the group and what my feelings most certainly are after spending a few minutes looking at some of the items posted. I am not at all a prude but I think this group is most certainly giving dA a really bad name. It going to allow similar groups and be seen by children. It is not at all safe in my humble opinion. Please look for yourselves and lets try and keep it clean in dA...

So far the person who runs the group says he has paid his money and the group has been allowed... dA are allowing it and says it is within the rules. What next I ask?

If you don't agree with me please say so, I am always interested in the opinion of others.

Comments please

Well, I think that if it has the eighteen and up block on it, that it should stay within the rules. DeviantArt is a portal for people to display their art. Erotic art still counts as art. Nobody is forcing anyone to look at the group. And as for children finding it. If they're young enough to not know what a pussy is, then they're probably not going to be on DeviantArt. They can lie about their age, but they'll see the same thing if they're looking for pictures on Google. I'm not condoning the people who use DeviantArt as a reason to just post useless amounts of SMUT, but it counts as an art, and it has an age block, and nobody forces you to look at it, so I think that it's fine to host on this site.

Just being logical, and not idealistic.

Unfortunately, I think you may be gaining THEM more popularity. I, myself, just find it easier to NOT pay attention or seek out sites like this. I stick with my fellow artist, with whom I have in common with and the same programs, so we can share ideas and things. Sometimes it just easier to turn the other cheek and let each artistic group have their own crowd. what we might not consider art, maybe to others. Beauty or pornography is in the eye of the beholder. Stick with what you know and let the others go.

I didn't seek it out Sarah. One of my friends asked for support... I am trying to support her... I in turn asked for the support of my friends... This is it now no more support.

As a woman this makes me feel degraded, this site is nothing but porn like shots, there is no art within it,and if Deviantart isn't willing to change anything about it,that shows how much they care about true artists...not much apparently...

I guess over time Deviantart has become more commercial and it's lost how it used to be...

Yes the commercial side kind of slaps me in the face... Goodness knows what will be next. However I do not want my art on a site that is associated with pornography. I will not be taking this issue any further as I am inadvertently advertising for them... Thanks for trying to help and your insights.

if dA allows it then there is very little we can actually do - to be quite frank looking at the relevant deviants page all i gather is an obsession with female genitals  surprised the group wasn't just named 'pussy palace' to go with complete vulgarity but i suspect alliteration is a bit beyond certain persons, the more you complain the more the founder will just use it as 'advertising'
its vulgar but then again what more can we expect from what appears to be a genital -obsessed troll? oh deviantart areas of your site are sinking lower and lower

I think it's just going to add the the groups attraction. Some things are best left alone. You now know dA isn't going to change their views on it.
