Self Esteem

No Llamas please

I was asked yesterday how I feel about what happened to me nearly 3 weeks ago how it has made me feel about myself :[link]

My response was and still is that it was an intrusion into my personal space. The response the person was looking for seemed to be that I should be really pleased that at nearly 68, men found me beautiful and attractive... What I look like does not matter to me in that way, I have several admirers and it never enters my head that I am still attractive to men. My life is too full of other thoughts to feel that way...

This is what I really do feel about so many people, I am sorry if it offends but this is my journal and I will say what I think and feel:

Why are so many people so shallow? Why do they worship pop-stars, film stars and super models? What is going on in this world that is making them that way? They cannot see any reality or pain suffered by real unknown people. Everything is either about themselves or about the stars they worship.

Surely if they put a bit of effort into looking at the real world they would wake up and see that they are in fact very ignorant, yet they don't want to know the facts. It matters to them that someone famous in the media has died, yet the thousands of starving children, who have no clothes, shelter or food for years are just dying in the streets. I forgot to mention lack of medical care...

Just think sometimes when you are eating your dinner all nice and freshly prepared and you leave a little because you are too full to eat any more that what you have left would have fed someone or maybe more than one and helped to keep them alive so they would have at least a chance in life...

Next is all the money it costs to send soldiers to kill innocents in countries they know absolutely nothing about. The soldiers are so brainwashed that they really believe they are somehow protecting their birthplace from 'terrorism' by going to into a completely illegal war and destroying families in the thousands. Killing children and in actual fact creating the very 'terrorism' and hatred they are supposed to be preventing... The costs of all this would feed, clothe and provide medical care for all these innocents and in return people would be living without any fear of terrorism...

This world has completely gone mad.  We are so full of our own ego's that those whose names we will never know really don't matter at all to us...

Sorry to be serious...

I am getting over what happened to me and am beginning to feel sorry for the person who invaded my space in such a wrong way, how do the thousands of people in other countries feel about their 'space/countries' being invaded when they have done nothing wrong at all?

Comments please... I promise not to get angry...

I completely agree with you. It really bothers me how some people (too many I might add) leave a substantial amount of food on their places without taking it home. Wtf, they didn't have the sense to save their leftovers for later? One asshole told me that "life isn't fair" when the subject of poverty came up- he was completely blaming it on the people themselves, using them as a scapegoat for blatantly immoral acts- sweatshops, unnecessary wars, and flat out stealing from poorer regions (for example, much of the western world's wealth comes from poor nations and THEIR resources).

As for people who worship celebrities, supermodels, etc.- it's a really strange phenomenon. Those supermodels and celebrities could give a shit about any of us. In this culture, there is a strange thought that more money makes you more better- morally, physically, etc.. I often see people write, "You can hate him/her all you want, but they're still going to make more money than you"- yeah, because that's SUCH a good substitute for being a good person.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments. I get a lot of 'hate' stuff for trying to spread the truth in whatever ways I can. It hurts me and lowers my vibration for a while however I know I will rise back up and know that my role in life is just to spread the truth and learn to take the 'hate' as I move through my life...

If we could all wake up and work together we could stop so much of the corruption. However sadly people all over the world are either happy in their comfort bubbles or so dumbed down, or terrified of the real world that they will never awaken...

You're welcome. Yeah, I expect that you'd get a lot of hate- I get a lot of too. :XD: People just HATE hearing the truth. You have a very good outlook about it though.

Yeah, it's sad.

I agree with you. I'm so hungry that I considered begging my neighbours for some food today. I haven't been able to go shopping in ages due to heavy rain and storms. I didn't beg, though. I'm determined to do that shopping somehow! I think people would be more eager to feed a hungry puppy than to help their human neighbour. What are we coming to? Are cuteness and fame all that matter? Your journal provides some good food for thought, Roz.

Oh my Ros. You need to build up a stock of food. Please ask your neighbour to help. Maybe they could loan you something. Bread and eggs or flour to cook something... Do ask or they will never be aware...

It's okay! The downpour finally stopped for a while and I went shopping. :) What I should do is always buy a few things that will keep and which I don't like too much, so that they will be there for emergencies.
