Anyone Rich out there

Tue Jan 31, 2012, 2:04 PM
No Llamas please

This was my fathers house [link] This is a Google Earth view of the whole property: Sorry my red line is very wonky... Large screen small mouse syndrome...

He died nearly 8 years ago... He didn't even leave me a keepsake. So don't worry I don't have anything. I live on benefits, my two brothers are each on low incomes and all the dosh went to my half sister and her other half at the time. I haven't seen her for about 30 years... Tried writing but had no response. She has a very different life to me...

However I just thought some of you would like to see what a beautiful house this is. It has had a lot of work done in the last few years, you can look through the rooms on the link if you want to.

I only ever spent a long weekend at the house, I was not wanted as I was the eldest... I wonder why??? However I have enough to eat, enough roof over my head and a bed to sleep in. How many homeless people could be accommodated in this place? The garden could feed about 20 a day for a year easily. There is a Victorian walled garden, not mentioned in the blurb. My stepmother was a keen gardener and used to grow far too much for their requirements.

Thanks for looking.

No, I couldn't afford to heat it. It s haunted too... Several people have had really bad experiences when staying there. I never lived there. I was cast out of the family as a child after my mother died, I was 12. I went to live with a school friends family when I was 15. We have just made contact again after nothing for about 26 years...

If you don't mind me asking, why were you kicked out of the family after your mom died? did your step-mother not like you?

I looked after my two brothers for about a year. We had a woman who came in to clean and she did other stuff as well. My father never really wanted me, he only seemed to want my brothers. I look a lot like my mother and I think it was disturbing for the woman who was later employed as housekeeper. My father was mentally and physically abusing me, I was locked in the cellar and beaten. I shut out a lot of this for many years. I didn't see much of my father for about 30 years, he didn't even recognise his own grandchildren who I had named both after him. However about a year before he died, my brother John told me to go to see him in hospital, he told me he had never banned me from the family that it was all my step mothers doing and all she had ever wanted was the money, he then added, 'Well she's got it'. Previously I had been told never to have any contact with him or my brothers as it was bad for my father to see me. This was done in the form of a letter sent by my stepmother, yes he married the housekeeper. They had a new set of children. I was the eldest of the 3 of the original family and I think she saw me as a threat to the family money which was steadily accumulating from various deaths.
For a while I went to live with a school friend and her family and realised what being happy at home was all about:[link] No longer a prisoner I tried to go back to try to make that same happiness in my own family. Ended up with a suicide attempt by me in August 1962. My father and all my mothers 5 childless sisters refused to come to the hospital where I was for over a week after which I decided to join the army as it would give me a place to live and a little money. Everyone had letters from home all the time but me... That was a lonely time until I married my first husband and found a new family in Ireland...

Lots more and it is all in my autobiography which is almost finished.
All these trials I have been through have given me something which has opened my eyes to the suffering in the world and made me who I am today...

I have sufficient to live reasonably comfortably on the benefits I get each week. The money my half sister and the rest eventually got their hands on has not brought any happiness at all to them as they had a crooked lawyer make certain none of the original 3 could even get a keepsake...

That is not why I posted it. I wouldn't want the place ever. The running costs are incredible. I only have about £100 a week. That place would need more than that to heat it. This is the second time it has been up for sale since my father died.

I suppose it is very England. The guy who put the finishing touches to the design was the designer of Buckingham Palace... Much happier where I am. Incidently my father left millions. We, that is my 2 brothers and I challenged the will, however no lawyer would take it on as we didn't have any money to start with... The view on Google Earth is pretty stunning. I will post that later and add it to the journal.
