This image is what I have made of the fractal I rendered.
I don't mind which you prefer. In showing the 2 versions I am just showing that you can add or subtract to any image, that it does not have to finish with the rendering.
I know many of you are purists when it comes to making your fractals and will automatically say you like the before one best. However that is up to the viewer. As the artist I like to use all the tools in my digital toolbox to get my images to how I want them to look.
I hate hotspots and like to drag bits of the image out of dark corners so they can be seen.
I don't always do a lot of postwork, but I don't really think it matters if I do.
My work is really best described as fractal based imagery.

I rarely do postwork, aside from sharpening, noise reduction, and sometimes treating some severe hotspots when they bother me, but that's because I'm a noob with image editing programs and there isn't much else I am able to do with them. 
I didn't even ever get the hang of this "purist" thing. Apo is a tool, and like every other tool's, its results can be perfected. Sometimes it's necessary, sometimes not.
I definitely prefer this one, it's more balanced, more vivid. There's a wiser use of space. The other one is not ugly, but it's just a pretty spiral without any purpose, at least in my eyes.
