This is one of my old landscape oil paintings. It is scanned from an SLR photo. I used to make a decent living from my paintings. I cannot paint any more due to the damage in my neck... You can see from my photography that I still see a great deal of beauty in all that surrounds us...

Roz.....this is so beautiful! It reminds me a bit of the age of impressionist paintings - which was my favorite! Simply lovely pastoral painting that conveys a sense of serenity! It's great that you wrote a bit about how you do it....I really enjoyed reading it! I used to do watercolors years ago and like you had to give that up. We do have to gravitate to new fields of creativity though, don't we!! That creative drive just has to come out one way or another! :-)

Yes thanks Anita. That is the way it is. I used to write a lot of poetry and stories. I designed clothes choreographed dances... Whatever. I just keep on going.

Thanks Merle. I used to do talks about my style of painting. I had an art shop and a couple of galleries in the past. I had a lot of brushes at my disposal that I cold mess about with and learned to cut them up to get certain effects... I used to use a stippling effect to get the foliage effects. I painted wet on wet so I could drag fine brushes through thick oil paint for twigs and branches. My silver birch tree trunks were done with a palette knife that I cut diagonally across to the angle of my hand as I worked so I could draw out the basic shape with the tip and fill in with trowel like strokes to make it look like the silver birch bark... Long time ago now...
One talk I did there were about 200 people turned up... I was hoping for about 20... Still I got through it. Had a TV program about my technique that was what brought the people in. I only took a really small painting to demonstrate on... I had no idea there would be so many people... Good memories.

This was huge... I can't remember who bought it in the first place. I used to paint stuff like this all the time, they all sold apart from a few I have in the house here. I would have had about 500 for a painting like that... Never get anything like that from fractals... Or photography. Still the camera is my friend and takes me on many adventures that I can share with my buddies...

really ......I'd think Fractals are the next
'big thing' in art.........
true about the camera it gets us out on lots of adventures and
we see thinks others take for granted...........

Be good to hope so. I have about 12,000... Imaging selling those at 500 each...

I would certainly do something worthwhile with that sort of money.

Thanks Mark. I painted dozens of landscapes like this. I didn't put people in them as the ones without sold much better. They were places the purchasers knew and they liked to imagine themselves in the picture...
