Blue Ball

Earlier this afternoon some kids were playing outside, I live in a park. They had managed to get a soccer ball firmly lodged in a tree outside the house next to mine. I was watching them from my window and all they could think of to try to get the ball down was to throw more stuff at it. Even a tennis ball which is now stuck there. I was watching as I didn't want my windows broken. Eventually they started playing about, knocking on my door, ringing the bell and being generally stupid. Well I caught them, stuck my head out of the upstairs window and got them to think of a better way to get the ball down. I suggested a long string with a weight to throw into the branches and then shake the tree and stop messing me around.

The next time I looked out the ball was gone, the tennis ball is still there... I am sure they are nice enough kids but it would be just so easy for a vulnerable woman alone like me to become a victim of children and for them to become the local trouble makers simply by allowing them to go on ringing my bell and mocking me. Well I will not put up with it and never have done.
